You don’t need a quieter mind. You need a bigger cathedral.

There’s a voice in your head.
“In your head?”
Says who?

And that voice…
Sometimes loud.
Sometimes subtle.
Always offering commentary no one asked for.
And so we try to quiet it.
Manage it.
Avoid it altogether.

But there’s another option.

Close your eyes…

Notice the feeling of “you”—
this sense of self in a body
sitting in a chair or lying in a bed.

Now imagine that the voice doesn’t live in your head…
but in a void.
A quiet, open, velvety void.
Asking nothing.

Whatever walls you once imagined are gone.
Just this vastness.
Sky-like.
And that voice?
Just floating.

There’s no need to quiet it.
No need to correct it.
Just feel the space.

Relocate.

Now imagine that the void is expanding.
Slowly.
Softly.
Warmly.

Expanding behind you.
Expanding in front of you.
Underneath and all around you.
Unconfined.
Undefined.
Unbound.
You — expanding.

Peace isn’t won.
You can stop fighting.
(If you want.)

If the voice won’t shrink—
expand the space.

Even if the voice keeps talking—
the space keeps growing.
The voice doesn’t shrink but gets smaller.

EvenStill

Sit with that for a moment.
Settle in.
Whatever a moment might be.
Let it be nothing.

Don’t expand your mind.
Go beyond it.

Stretch your edges until there are none.
Until the space begins to also wonder.

A little peace.
Not forced — just found.
