Opinions are everywhere. Let’s focus on our own for a moment.
We move through the day quietly sorting everything we encounter. Most of the time we don’t even notice we’re doing it.
The mind has an opinion about almost everything. The weather. The traffic. The person ahead of us in line. Even how we’re feeling at this particular moment.
There is what happens, and then there is what we think about what happens. Most days the two arrive so close together that we barely notice the difference.
We don’t need to stop having opinions, but it might be interesting to notice how many of them we never actually asked for.
What happens when something is allowed to exist for a moment before we decide what we think about it?
