Today, let’s talk about lightbulbing. (No, I didn’t bump my head.)
Consider a lightbulb. Is it the bulb, or is it the light? It’s gotta be the light.
But the bulb has form. It is tangible—we can see and hold it. Therefore, it’s real. So it’s gotta be the bulb, not the light… am I right?
Yet the light is pure function. It is formless. Try holding that in your hands.
Of course, a lightbulb without light? Well, that’s just a bulb. “Don’t mind me. Nothing to see here!”
Form without function is darkness. Function without form illuminates nothing. Light reveals the path. Moreover, it illuminates the form that’s walking the path. Awareness without a body sees no reflection, knows no self.
So there you have it—two of life’s greatest mysteries solved in one moment:
What is your true nature?
What is the purpose of life?
Lightbulbing. Illuminate yourself. Illuminate everything.
