Beware or Be Aware?—ButterflyInstead

The grind.
It’s how we make progress, right?
It’s how we “get ahead.”

Like a caterpillar inching.

The grind repeats you.
But its absence scares you.

Like a moth to the flame

Light promises the way,
and we chase it—
calling it clarity.
An irresistible attraction.

But artificial light confuses us—
like a moth circling the flame until…

It’s not stupidity.
It’s guidance—misapplied.

Artificial light will incinerate us.
True light incinerates illusion.

Don’t chase the flame.
Carry it.

The rat race

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a maze?
Everyone’s running—but is anyone arriving?

Rats are put in mazes and observed,
running in frantic loops, trying to reach a reward.

From the scientist’s view, it’s pointless motion.
For the rat, it’s survival.

We are told, “The rat race is exhausting—but at least you’re free.”
Is free how you feel?

An endless path.
Depressingly predictable.
Still dreaming of a better maze.

If a moth dies chasing the light,
a rat dies chasing the cheese.

Stop running and the walls dissolve.

The hive mind hums

The hive hums with collective purpose.
The rat race with better PR.

The upside is the honey.
The downside is hypnosis.

The drone of the hive mind is the cost of making honey.

But is that you—just another bee at the honey factory?
Or is your goal something sweeter?

Honey feeds bodies.
Silence feeds being.

The hive will keep humming without you.
The honey will get made.
You don’t have to disappear inside it.

Let them make the honey.

Don’t be a bee.
Be free.

Don’t fear the silence.
Stop chasing the buzz.

Beware or be aware?

To see the true light,
you must be willing to rest—
in darkness.
In quiet.
In stillness.

Trust the process,
even when the process looks like annihilation.

The cocoon only feels like death.
Don’t fear dark stillness.
Don’t mistake absence for loss.

When everything stops moving,
